The ARIES SPHERICAL MIPS road helmet by GIRO offers sensational comfort and comfortable ventilation. Its slim silhouette is not only eye-catching, but the technology behind it is also undoubtedly impressive! The MIPS SPHERICAL technology’s ball-and-socket design ensures a perfect integration into the overall construction of the helmet and allows the outer shell to rotate during a crash. This helps redirect rotational forces even more effectively. In addition, the road helmet has been made with IN-MOLD technology, which ensures exceptional stability by permanently bonding the HARDBODY outer shell to the shock-absorbing NANOBEAD EPS liner shell. A total of 24 vents complete the numerous features of this helmet.

Highlights & Technologies:
This is a further development of the MULTI-DIRECTIONAL IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEM (MIPS) where the plastic sliding pieces of the original system have been eliminated. Serving an important function within the MIPS SPHERICAL sliding system are the two layers of EPS foam. This construction offers even more protection without compromising on comfort or ventilation. Thanks to the ball-and-socket design, the MIPS SPHERICAL has an invisible low-friction layer between two EPS layers. This elegant design allows the outer shell to rotate independently. In the event of a fall, the forces acting on the head are reduced by the moving outer shell that slows down the rotational forces even more effectively than before.
To get an elegant and slim silhouette without compromising protection standards, GIRO uses an EPS with microbeads that do not expand as much. EPS is extremely lightweight and maintains its properties in a wide temperature range.
The purpose of the inner EPS shell is to
prevent or reduce a rider’s head injuries in the event of a fall. The shell absorbs the impact energy and is thereby itself compressed or even destroyed (comparable to an airbag in a car). This is why you should always replace a bike helmet with a new one after an impact.
With the IN-MOULD construction, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single operation while it foams.
The liner is fused with the outer shell under high pressure and strong heat for a lasting connection. This makes the helmet even more resistant without adding weight. This production process also makes it possible to shape significantly better ventilation systems and vents. IN-MOULD helmets are therefore lighter than traditional helmets and have significantly better ventilation systems.
All Giro helmets come with a liner shell made of EPS (expanded polystyrene). EPS is the most efficient material for absorbing shock and impact energies. EPS is extremely lightweight and maintains its properties in a wide temperature range.

The HARDBODY outer shell is made of a ultra-thin polycarbonate material that surrounds the IN-MOLD shell. This technology provides the necessary structure and impact resistance.
ROC LOC5+ AIR:
The adjustment system in a mini housing allows for easy adjustments with just two fingers. You can adjust it in height and width for a perfect fit. At the same time, the construction creates an air cushion between the helmet shell, creating a pleasant, cool stream of air around the head.
A durable, reinforcing arch runs throughout the helmet, improving the stability.
Breathable liner pads for even more comfort and effective temperature and moisture management. Antibacterial and odour-inhibiting effect thanks to silver ions that are permanently embedded into the fibre.
