With a combination of PolyX and Vectran Breaker fabric, the tyre offers the highest puncture protection in Continental's bicycle tyre portfolio. The weight remains pleasingly low thanks to foldable aramid cores. The tyre's rolling resistance is also relatively low, so that your energy reserves can be conserved.

In addition, the tread pattern of the Pure CONTACT has been further optimised and now has a defined central area with prominent drainage elements that can channel water away from the tread. Together with the lateral lamellas and the balanced rubber compound, the tyre offers excellent grip in wet and dry conditions.

• PolyX Breaker:
With the PolyX Breaker, Continental brings car know-how to the bicycle tyre segment. Polyester has already been used successfully in car tyres for years and has proven itself there many times over. The particularly resistant polyester fibre is tightly woven crosswise. This results in a very high fabric density, which makes the PolyX Breaker not only resistant to foreign bodies, but also particularly resistant to punctures.

• Vectran Breaker:
Vectran is spun from the liquid crystal polymer Vectra. This produces a thermoplastic, multi-fibre yarn. For comparison: This semi-crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramid and has five times the tensile strength of steel. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. Rolling resistance is not negatively affected.
