SQlab 612 ERGOWAVE 2.0 R Carbon Road Bike Saddle

The 612 Ergowave R 2.0 Carbon from SQlab is designed for riders in a highly athletic, stretched position – for anyone who demands uncompromising efficiency and expects direct feedback from the road. The focus is on pure ergonomics. A clearly defined riding position and precise pressure distribution ensure stability under load – and enable you to perform to the best of your ability.

To this end, SQlab has fitted this saddle with a width-dependent dip (recess) and an Ergowave shape: The pronounced dip in the centre of the saddle can provide targeted relief for sensitive areas when the rider is leaning far forwards. The stepped design positions the rider firmly on their sit bones, provides support on climbs and facilitates direct power transfer to the pedals.

In addition, the 612 Ergowave R 2.0 Carbon features Adaptive Wing technology. This is evident in the saddle’s carbon-fibre-reinforced shell, which remains rigid in the direction of travel whilst yielding specifically at the sides to follow the pedalling motion. This results in fewer pressure peaks, the sitting position remains slightly dynamic and pressure is relieved from the lower back. 

Furthermore, the short, compact saddle shape has been specifically designed to suit a stretched-out riding position. The pronounced taper and short nose of the saddle create space and ensure unrestricted freedom of movement during high-intensity activities. In addition, the carbon-fibre-reinforced shell and carbon seat stays ensure a thoroughly weight-optimised construction with direct power transfer and precise feedback. The finely tuned flex complements the firm ride without compromising it. Stripped down to maximum efficiency in racing. 

SQlab demonstrates that ergonomics must be approached as a system by designing the 612 R 2.0 Carbon to be used in combination with the SQ-Bib Shorts ONE12 R featuring PHNTM technology. The very thin, high-density seat pad specifically helps to distribute pressure around the sit bones – without compromising the direct feel of the saddle.
