Update in the everyday gravel segment: Rose Bikes unveils the Hobo steel bike with a new look

Rose Bikes Press Portal Update in Gravel Segment Hobo

As well as a striking colour scheme, the Hobo flat-bar gravel bike comes with a front luggage rack as standard. With these updates, Rose Bikes is positioning the Hobo as an everyday gravel bike that effortlessly strikes a balance between practicality for daily use and a personalised lifestyle.

New ‘Hobo Cues’ model and new ‘Cotton Candy’ colour

The Hobo Cues replaces the previous models and forms the new basis for a single-product approach. Technically, Rose has opted for the Shimano Cues groupset with 1x10 gears. The ‘Cotton Candy’ colour scheme creates a visual highlight that emphasises the Hobo’s modern vibe. The Hobo brings colour into play and shows that robust materials and classic lines are anything but boring.

On the move with more freedom

With the Hobo Base Rack front luggage rack, which includes two transport straps, extra storage space is now a standard feature. Weighing in at 13.0 kg, the bike remains within a weight range that allows for longer journeys or spontaneous adventures. Rose has taken customer feedback on board and adapted the cockpit: a narrower handlebar noticeably changes your riding position and makes navigating easier – whether on forest trails or through the urban jungle. The reduced width of 680 mm provides greater freedom of movement without compromising control.

The setup also proves versatile beyond that. The combination of Rose G30 650B wheels and 47 mm-wide all-round gravel tyres responds to different surfaces with a smooth ride. On tarmac and gravel, or when transitioning between the two – the riding experience remains predictable and encourages you to venture off the beaten track for a change.

Tried-and-tested robustness meets modern versatility

The Hobo remains true to its concept: a bike for everyday use that’s also designed to be taken beyond the everyday. The design is still based on the familiar steel frame, which deliberately contrasts with a high-performance carbon fork. This combination gives the bike lively handling and excellent ride comfort. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure controllable braking, regardless of the weather or surface. At the same time, the 14 mounting points on the frame and fork offer various options for attaching luggage directly to the bike. The standard front rack serves as the central starting point.

Those wishing to expand the bike’s range of use will find pre-fitted mounts for a centre stand and mudguards. The tyre clearance of up to 55 mm also allows for adjustments depending on the route – from narrower set-ups for the city to wider tyres for trips off the beaten track. “We love the Hobo because it’s simple and striking. Even though many people will ride it in the city, it’s perfectly capable of serious gravel riding. The Hobo is more than a match for bikepacking trips and cycle tours,” says Anatol Sostmann, Director of Product & Brand at Rose Bikes.
